About Us

The Disappearing Edge

All ear, noses and orbital prostheses are made in a medical-grade silicone, and all prosthetic eyes and scleral shells are made with medical-grade acrylic. These high-quality materials are essential in crafting facial prostheses that appear most beautiful and life-like.

David Trainer, our lead Maxillofacial Prosthetist, was instrumental in the recent development of the “Disappearing Edge”. This innovative method creates an ultra-fine edge that ensures each custom prosthesis discretely blends into the skin, with only “nearly a seam”.

Patients are referred to the Center due to numerous causes, such as cancer and trauma. Also, some children are born with congenital malformations such as Microtia, Treacher Collins, or Golden Haar syndromes. With a combined experience of over 50 years, our Maxillofacial Prosthetic team is able to provide our patients with state-of-the-art technologies to the highest degree of excellence. We coordinate with physicians and specialists to achieve the best possible results for our patients.

We also work directly with the Veterans Administration (VA) to provide custom facial prostheses for US veterans. Many of our veteran patients are not aware that the VA can cover 100% of the costs of our facial protheses, and it’s a much more simple and hassle-free process that you might expect. Be sure to give us a call if you have any questions, and we will ensure you get the quality of care you deserve!
